Guiding Agile Change

Course methods and materials

Our virtual courses endeavour to bring in the rich mix of communication, collaboration and learning games that were hallmarks of our in-person classes. With proven approaches and an engaging technology platform, participants are able to share ideas, work in breakouts, practice new ways of working, all from the comfort of their own set-up.

The learning platform we use is as follows:

  • ZOOM – an industry standard video and collaboration platform that allows for excellent face-to-face communication and facilitates chats, breakout rooms and an overall visual style of teaching.
  • MURAL – this real time collaboration board provides the background for many of the learning games and exercises
  • Notability – in lieu of whiteboards and projectors, the slides are shared through Zoom and annotated using Notability. Blank sheets are created so that the facilitators can draw out concepts in real time or highlight areas as needed.
  • Graphic Facilitation – a key way of learning in a virtual classroom is being able to see clearly what is being discussed and shaping those artifacts. Both of our facilitators are trained graphic facilitators that brings a unique visual tone and ashetic to all the classes providing students with a very rich experience.

For any Alluvial course, we can provide private group training to support and accelerate learning in your organization.

In an age of constant change, this 1-day class will equip participants with a mindset, model and pragmatic set of tools to guide agile change within their teams & organizations.

Recursively using agile’s incremental and iterative ways of working to organizational change, this approach is not only a practical way to navigate agile orgnizational change, but also provides an opportuity for leaders to gain hands-on experience with agile practices and model behaviours for their organization.

Through exploring the ideas supporting the need for a persistent and sustainable agile change platform, participants will then reflect on their particular context using a range of Organizational Discovery techniques.

From there, participants will craft meaningful and measurable Outcome Statements that will provide the vision for their change platform. Collaborative design is then used to generate a Change Map that is prioiritzed and sliced into a Release Plan. After further refinement of each action, the change platform is ready to be guided iteratively over time.Lastly, participants will reflect on their capabilities as guides and focus in on facilitation and influencing as key skills for supporting their initiatives.
